Dr. Carrington is an assistant professor and member of the Informatics, Health Systems, and Leadership division at the University of Colorado Denver, College of Nursing. Dr. Carrington’s research focuses on nurse to nurse communication of a clinical event and the link to failure to rescue. Guided by Symbolic Interaction and Information Theories, Dr. Carrington is interested in the nurses’ perceptions of a clinical event and nurses’ perceptions of nurse to nurse communication using the electronic health record. Areas of teaching include informatics and ethics.
