At the College of Nursing, our faculty are as expert and active in clinical practice as they are in educating future nurse practitioners. As a result, students gain valuable clinical experience in nurse-managed health centers or faculty practice sites. A list of those sites follows.
Adams City High School is a collaborative effort of Community Health Services of Commerce City and the College of Nursing. The clinic is located within the high school and provides care to children. The school-based health center provides primary health care services high school students including physical assessments, immunizations, minor acute care, management of stable chronic disease conditions, and referrals for complete emergent care. Mental health counseling and support groups are also available through an on-site social worker.

Arapahoe County Detention Center is a jail in eastern Arapahoe County. The College of Nursing contracts with Correctional Healthcare Management to provide primary care for female inmates.

Carin' Clinic is a collaborative partnership with Jefferson County Human Services, Jeffco Schools, the City of Arvada, and Lutheran Medical Center. The clinic has been in operation since 1993, and provides care to low-income children including minor acute illnesses, and sports-related injury care. Well-child care and immunizations are available by appointment. Health promotion services are funded by a Community Block Grant, the Arvada City Council and other community foundations. Approximately 99% of the children served are either uninsured or participate in the Medicaid programs.

University Nurse Midwives offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient midwifery services to women of all ages. The faculty practice is located at the Anschutz Medical Campus. The practice primarily serves the economically disadvantaged population of Colorado through an exchange of service agreement that facilitates provision of prenatal care at the MCPN Hoffman Heights Clinic and delivery of those patients at the Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion. Evening hours are offered Mondays and Thursdays.
