Internationally recognized, independent health futurist and accomplished writer Jeffrey C. Bauer, PhD, will be in Colorado Feb. 4-5 to highlight his life-long work about health care and the new realm of possibilities for nurse practitioners and other qualified non-physician practitioners who are qualified to provide health care without supervision by physicians. Ever since his book, “Not What the Doctor Ordered” hit newsstands 25 years ago, Dr. Bauer has been in demand as a featured speaker at national conferences presenting the topic of enduring health reform and discussing ways to improve the medical marketplace.

Formerly a full-time faculty member at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center from 1973-1984, Dr. Bauer calls his visit “a homecoming of sorts.” Bauer is an accomplished writer who has traveled the world consulting and educating on topics such as the future of health care, the medical economy and the politics of medicine. Dr. Bauer will be visiting CU Anschutz February 4 and 5 to discuss his book “Not What the Doctor Ordered: the next 25 years”, and as the keynote speaker at the 9th Pediatric Advanced Practice Conference at Children’s Hospital Colorado.

According to Dr. Bauer, he is updating the book to “help American consumers gain the full benefits of direct access to qualified health professionals who provide health services at least as well as physicians within defined often overlapping scopes of practice.”

In addition to his presentation at the conference, he will be at the Anschutz Medical Campus for a variety of events including Guest Lecture, Round Table and Reception. CU Anschutz faculty, staff, and alumni are invited to attend.

Join the conversation and attend one of the following opportunities on Feb. 4:
