Webster dictionary defines a nurse as a person who is skilled or trained in caring for the sick or infirm. But we all know a nurse is much more. “The nurse is the soft interface between the institution and the individuals it serves.” (Anonymous)
Gifts to the College of Nursing are a vote of confidence not only in the CON, but also in the future of Colorado and the future of nursing. The College of Nursing is working to alleviate the predicted severe nursing shortage and continue to help provide patients with the very best care possible. The College of Nursing’s general funding continues to be in jeopardy as higher education is one of the most vulnerable areas for budget cuts. As the cost of a nursing education as well as student debt continues to rise, the College becomes more dependent on the contributions of our supporters.

Funds are used for special opportunities within the College of Nursing to support student and faculty recruitment, new nursing programs such as Rural Health and Mental Health and other education resources such as simulation labs.

This endowment was created to address the ever increasing faculty shortage. The fund provides support to students enrolled in the doctoral education programs at the College of Nursing at the University of Colorado.
