The Colorado Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities Research Center (IDDRC) is a multidisciplinary research center devoted to the prevention, diagnosis, cure and amelioration of intellectual and developmental disabilities. Such disabilities include, among many others, Down syndrome, autism, inborn errors of metabolism, and spina bifida. Research efforts range from fundamental studies on neuro-developmental disorders to clinical trials for their cure and the amelioration of symptoms.
The IDDRC has been supported for 40 years by the E. Kennedy-Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Development. The Center is based in the Department of Pediatrics, but includes faculty from numerous clinical and basic-science departments in the School of Medicine of the University of Colorado. The IDDRC is closely affiliated with The Children's Hospital Denver.
Our mission is to advance the diagnosis, prevention, care and cure of children with neuro-developmental disorders through research of the highest quality.
