My research has been focused on the expression levels of leptin receptor and integrin alpha 1 (a marker of trophoblast invasion) in HTR-8/SVneo cells grown on matrigel when exposed to differing leptin concentrations. Leptin has previously been shown to be upregulated in preeclampsia, which is marked by decreased cytotropholast invasion. HTR8 cells are an immortalized human trophoblast cell line which, when grown on matrigel, undergo invasive cytotrophoblast differentiation.

I enjoy most things ending in –ology, reading, and Disney movies. I love spending time with friends, musicals, and traveling.
