4Tissue specimens must be immediately frozen on dry ice, stored at -70oC, and shipped frozen on dry ice. In both the regular assay and the microassay, six assays are performed — all with the same CPT code. Microassay (available on liver only) is required for specimens of less than 60 mg.
5Cost is $330 for each parent (enzyme assay only). 5.0 ml minimum of whole blood is required, collected in a purple cap (EDTA) tube. Store and ship on wet ice (not frozen). Call this laboratory before shipping.
