Diffusion of Innovations: Implications for Practice


The study of how ideas, practices and technologies spread among populations has a 120-year history. Since the 1970s, medicine has been in the forefront of contributing to and making use of this research paradigm. In this talk Dr. Dearing will describe the diffusion of innovation paradigm, present key factors known to be associated with adoption and describe implementation science perspectives about fidelity, adaptation and sustainability.
