The deadline for abstract submission is at midnight - Tuesday, May 1, 2012.
Length and Content of Abstracts
Each abstract should contain a title of the abstract and the names and institutional affiliations of the authors. The author’s name who will be presenting the abstract should be highlighted. Each abstract should contain an introductory sentence indicating the purposes of the study, a brief description of pertinent experimental procedures, a summary of the data, and a statement of the conclusions.
The combined length of the abstract body should not exceed 400 words, not including authors and title.
John M. Stewart Memorial Poster Award
Monetary awards will be granted to the top three students for outstanding posters presented at the Annual Structural Biology and Biochemistry Symposium in memory of John Stewart. Professor Stewart was an internationally renowned leader in the field of peptide chemistry for almost five decades. Professor Stewart made highly significant contributions in many areas of peptide science, most notably in the design of a wide array of potent and orally active therapeutics for low blood pressure.
In remembrance of John Stewart, members of the Symposium Committee will evaluate the scientific quality of the submitted abstract on the basis of the following criteria: novelty of the research, significance of the findings, and clarity.
The poster board assigned to each presenter has an area of 5 feet in width and 4 feet in height. Each presentation should contain a top panel listing the title of the abstract and the names and institutional affiliations of the authors. Any figure or table presented in the poster should include a legend. The recommended font size for normal text should be 16.
Pushpins, tape, and poster numbers will be available at the session.
The poster presentation will be held in the Tri-visible room from 12:45-1:30 pm during which the presenter will be expected to be present. Posters maybe set up at anytime prior between 8:30-10:00 am. Displays maybe taken down at anytime following the session and any display material left after 6:30 pm will be discarded.
