2012 Symposium

1st Annual

The first annual LCI Down Syndrome Symposium will be held on Friday, October 19 from 10-2:30 in the Phelps auditorium on the Anschutz Medical Campus. This symposium is for scientists interested in Down syndrome. We are putting together an exciting list of local and outside speakers, with the object of communicating the basics of the causes of Down syndrome and ideas for studying, and hopefully ameliorating, its many associated conditions (e.g. cognitive disability, Alzheimer's Disease, leukemia).

You will need to register to attend this symposium. (Boulder people will receive parking directions following registration; parking is free if you have a Boulder parking tag). Coffee will be available in the morning and lunch will be served.

Register Here.

Attendance at this symposium is a prerequisite for applying for the LCI grants program. Please read this document for a full description of the grants program. Even if you currently have no interest in applying for a Down syndrome grant, you will be exposed to both fascinating scientific ideas and an interesting medical problem at the symposium. Even if you currently have no intention of beginning a project in this area, this symposium may induce you to reconsider.
