Welcome to the Spring Stampede Mental Muscle Challenge

Teams will be asked to reassemble part of a protein amino acid sequence from memory. To view the key, they must run all together, across the parade grounds while singing Henry the 8th.  It can’t be that hard, after all, your cells do it every day.  Assemble your best ribosomal mimics and win this challenge for your team.

Location:   Parade Grounds

Date and Time:   April 20th, Stampede Challenge Set 2, round 1 starts at 1:00 pm; round 2 starts at 1:40 pm

Rules:   To participate, form a team of 4. Teams may include one faculty or resident advisor. No notes or extraneous materials may be used to assist your memory. Failure to sing gregariously will result in a 1 minute penalty added to the final time for each team.

Scoring:   Points will be awarded based on the time to completion of the exact amino acid sequence (up to a max of 50 points). Team spirit and cooperation can earn each team up to 10 bonus points. In addition, teams that have members from each medical school class will receive extra points.

Henry the 8th Lyrics:
I'm Henry the 8th I am,

Henry the 8th I am, I am,
I got married to the widow next door,
She's been married 7 times before,
And every one was a Henry (Henry),
She wouldn't have a Willy or a Sam (no Sam)
I'm her 8th old man I Henry,
Henry the 8th I am

Second verse same as the first
I'm Henry the 8th I am,
Henry the 8th I am, I am,
I got married to the widow next door,
She's been married 7 times before,
And every one was a Henry (Henry),
She wouldn't have a Willy or a Sam (no Sam)
I'm her 8th old man I Henry,
Henry the 8th I am
