Optional vision plan with nationwide company is available to residents and their dependents through payroll deductions. CU GME Health/Dental Benefits Plan does NOT cover routine eye exams, contacts, glasses.

Optional participation in the CU Flex Plan, an IRS Section 125 flexible benefit plan, is available. This reduces taxable income by allowing payment for eligible out-of-pocket health care and/or dependent care expenses from a pre-tax account.

University of Colorado School of Medicine Graduate Medical Education residents are eligible to participate in an optional 403 and/or 457 tax-deferred investment program.

• Residents PGY-II and above receive up to seven calendar days for paid educational leave

Leaves of Absence

• For family and/or medical related leave of absence, resident may be granted up to 12 weeks of leave during a 12-month period. Leaves of absence are determined on a case-by-case basis
