Research interests include function and health related quality of life after treatment of skeletal disorders, limb preservation surgical techniques, and oncology. Other interests include outcome analysis for different surgical devices and techniques in order to provide our patients with the most innovative orthopaedic treatments available.

Research goals are: 1) to explore and understand the impact of legislation and policies on the delivery of special education and related services to children in schools, on early intervention services for infants and toddlers and their families, and on pediatric physical therapy practice; and 2) to improve the effectiveness of the teaching and learning process in physical therapy education.

Research interests include the exploration of several areas related to exercise and hormone replacement in the elderly: 1) the effect of exercise training on body fat distribution and the relationship to the metabolic abnormalities associated with obesity and cognitive decline; 2) the potential importance of hormone supplementation on strength, endurance, function, and body composition in older individuals.

Research interests focus on novel methods for translational bioengineering which include shape memory polymers for next-generation minimally invasive biomedical devices, understanding progression of pulmonary hypertension in children, hemodynamic vascular profiling using echo particle image velocimetry, and starting up biomedical device companies.
