Bone regeneration with stem cell-based therapies

Project Description

Our lab focuses on developing stem cell-based therapies for bone and articular cartilage tissue engineering. Current projects focus on optimizing the ability of bone marrow derived mesenchymal stem cells for bone tissue engineering, and also utilizing cellular reprogramming technology to generate induced pluripotent stem cells that will be tested for their ability to regenerate diseased or damaged bone. These studies will be performed through in vitro cellular differentiation assays and in animal models for bone repair.
