Title

Developing a gene expression signature that predicts response to epigenetic modulation in pediatric leukemia

Status

Open

Project Description

We discovered that we can pharmacologically influence stem cell programs in cancer cells by targeting epigenetic modulators with rationally designed small molecules. It will be important to predict which patients will respond to this type of therapy. We will analyze gene expression profiles in pediatric leukemia patients and try to define a signature that will predict response to targeted agents (evaluated in vitro). The project will involve choosing an appropriate patient population, extract RNA for sequencing, analyze data, and correlate with in vitro drug responses.
