Title

Identify inhibitors of transcriptional complexes for anti-cancer therapy

Status

Open

Project Description

We are targeting two transcriptional complexes (Six1/Eya and CtBP/E1A) for anti-cancer therapy.  Both complexes are over-expressed in a large number of tumors and are low or not present in normal adult tissues.  RNAi knockdown of these complexes dramatically inhibit tumor growth and metastasis.  Our goal is to identify small molecule inhibitors of these complexes (by targeting the protein-protein interaction in these complexes) using a combination of high throughput screening, structure-based drug design, and other unique molecular biology approaches.
