Title

Biomarkers of Inflammation & Hypercoagulability in Perinatal Brain Injury

Status

Open

Project Description

This project prospectively enrolls high-risk mothers (mothers with preterm prematur rupture of membranes or preeclampsia) to test blood markers of inflammation and clotting disorders. At the time of delivery, placentas are collected for pathological examination, and fetal cord blood is tested for inflammatory or coagulation disturbances. The infants are then followed in the Perinatal Stroke Clinic for ongoing neurological examinations.
