Facing four years of demanding study can be daunting for any medical student, but Azin Kheirandish Pishkenari knows she’ll have plenty of family support. “I have about 10 grandmas,” she says.
A physician offered Amelia Bowman this advice as she was considering entering medical school: “If you can be happy doing anything else, you should.”
