Simulation Control Rooms
CAPE’s maintains three state-of-the-art simulation suites, each with its own control room. Each control room is separated from the scenario room by a one-way mirror. The control room contains the computer used to modify the conditions of the mannequin. Monitors display both computer operations as well as video readout from each of the three digital video cameras in the scenario room. The suite also contains equipment to manipulate camera angles and magnification. Audio input simulating the voice of the mannequin is delivered from the control room. Instructors are invited to observe and assess participants from the control room.
Audio/Visual Recording System
As an integrated tool within EMS-Arcadia’s line of products, CAPE uses the Total SIM and Total Digital AV, which combine seamlessly to do more than just record and save images and audio files. With pan, tilt, and zoom features, the video can capture the action where it happens. At 30 images per second, the video is recorded in MPEG 4 format for easy digital storage and transfer. Data from the simulator’s event log and vital signs monitor is concurrently recorded and can be viewed alongside video of the scenario. CAPE soon expects to add Arcadia’s Mobil-SIM in order to take full advantage of our newborn and infant mannequins portability.
