Medical Education, Visiting Professor

Olle tenCate, PhD
Professor, Medical Education
Utrecht University, Netherlands

March 19, 2015 and March 20, 2015

About a decade ago, Olle tenCate PhD introduced the concept of Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) as a framework for assessment in the health professions. Since the EPAs have been adopted around the world, including in the United States, as a way of making decisions about readiness for independent paractice or progression to the next level of training. The UCSOM has adopted EPAs for the medical students program and EPAs are being developed for all sub-specialty fellowship programs, including those in pediatrics. We are fortunate that Dr. tenCate will be on campus as a Visiting Professor to help us with the challenges of changing to a new way of thinking about assessment and progression.
