The School of Medicine Introduces an Advisory College Program

On December 6, 2012, the University of Colorado medical students, along with a group of deans and faculty mentors, launched an ambitious new Advisory College Program (ACP). The ACP will promote student wellness and academic and career success, with a focus on structured mentorship of students and community-building activities. More than 300 students attended the kick-off event at the Denver Zoo, providing students and faculty the opportunity to connect and mingle with their colleges.

National Gold Professorship Competition Honors and Promotes
Humanistic Medicine and Professionalism in Medical Education
Three recipients will receive $50,000 per year for three
years; Applications due March 4, 2013
The Arnold P. Gold Foundation Professorship Program promotes
the importance of humanistic medicine and the values of professionalism in
medical education. The goal of the award is to honor and support faculty at the
assistant or associate professor level who embody these attributes through
clinical practice, teaching, and scholarship including research and curriculum
development.

Applications for the AAMC Council of Deans Fellowship
Program Due March 31, 2013
The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Council
of Deans (COD) Fellowship Program is currently accepting applications for
2013-2014. The program is for senior faculty members, including department
chairs and assistant and associate deans, who are interested in being
considered for deanships in the near future.
