The Section of Vascular Surgery and EndoVascular Therapy which includes Podiatry, under the leadership of Mark Nehler, MD is comprised of five Vascular fellowship-trained, Vascular specialty board certified surgeons, two nurse practitioners, two full-time and one part-time podiatrists, and one PhD, who serves as the associate director of Vascular Diagnostics in addition to section management. We have a dedicated, experienced staff consisting of one administrative assistant and two patient affairs coordinators.
Outpatient clinical activities at University Hospital are centered in the Cardiac and Vascular Center. Endovascular procedures are also performed in the interventional suites of the CVC while the operating rooms are only 1 floor away including the new hybrid OR for complex endovascular cases.
The Section maintains substantial collaboration within UCD and at our primary affiliate, the Denver Veterans Affairs Medical Center, with Dr. Whitehill holding a full time appointment at the DVAMC as Chief of Surgery, Drs Nehler and Greenberg holding 1/2 time appointments at the DVAMC. Dr. Nehler also is the Surgery Residency Program Director while Dr. Whitehill is the Surgery Medical Student Director.
The Section's administrative and academic space is on the fifth floor of the Acdemic Office One Building and also serves as a base for clinical and translational research.
