Dr. Duncan Wilcox, MD has been recruited as an Associate Professor in the Division of Urology at the University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine, practicing at The Children’s Hospital beginning September of 2008. Dr. Wilcox was raised in London and received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of London, St. Mary’s Hospital School of Medicine and completed his residency in urology at the University of London. Dr. Wilcox completed a fellowship in pediatric urology at the University of London, Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital under the directorship of Mr. Philip Ransley MD. The fellowship experience was heavily weighted in reconstructive surgery both of the bladder and genitalia and laparoscopic surgery.
Dr. Wilcox’s primary clinical interest is hypospadias, undescended testicles, patients with imperforate anus and spinal defects patients. He also specializes in cloacal reconstruction. As an active member of the AAP, AUA, and the European Society of Pediatric Urology he is dedicated to advancing education and clinical research in Pediatric Urology. Dr. Wilcox has authored numerous clinical papers, and has presented nationally on various aspects of Pediatric Urology. The Division of Urology at the University of Colorado and The Children’s Hospital are committed to improving the survival and overall quality of life for pediatric patients and we are pleased to have Dr. Wilcox on the full-time faculty at our institution. We are committed to excellence in surgery, patient care, and further research in the ever-evolving area of pediatric urology and feel Dr. Wilcox provides an important resource to both patients and medical providers in the Rocky Mountain region.
