The medical physics research program is among the largest programs in the Rocky Mountain region. Active
research areas include IGRT and adaptive radiation therapy (ART),
IMRT/VMAT/SBRT optimization and dose delivery, SBRT dose calculation and
evaluation using Monte Carlo algorithms, motion management using 4DCT
and active breathing control (ABC), biological and mathematical modeling
to predict tumor control and radiation-induced normal tissue damage,
and brachytherapy. Our program is closely integrated with our clinical
colleagues’ research programs, thus allowing our patients to benefit
from our clinical physics research and development advances.
