The geriatric population is quickly expanding and training capable psychiatrists to meet this group’s growing mental health needs is an important priority and goal of our program. We offer a broad range of clinical and didactic experiences to develop skills in the assessment and treatment of older adults.
The University of Colorado Denver in collaboration with the Denver Veterans Affairs Medical Center (DVAMC) and the Denver Health Medical Center (DHMC) now offers a one year program designed to train psychiatrists in the assessment and care of older adults.
Our new geriatric psychiatry fellowship is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
Upon completion of the program, our fellows will be trained to provide consultation, interpret research, and serve as educators in the field of geriatric psychiatry.
