Dr. Weiner is the Director of Clinical Services for the University of Colorado Denver Depression Center. He is a Senior Clinical Instructor in the Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Weiner attended medical school, internship and psychiatric residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.
Over the past twenty years, in addition to an ongoing private practice in psychiatry, he has held many leadership positions in the Denver psychiatric community. Dr. Weiner served as Medical Director for Bethesda Hospital, Medical Director for Psychiatric Services for the Health One Hospitals and Vice President and Medical Director for the Columbia-Health One Division of Psychiatry. He founded and directed the Colorado Anxiety Disorders Institute, a multi-disciplinary clinical practice committed to delivering evidence based pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy for anxiety and mood disorders.
His commitment to clinical care was recognized by his colleagues who acknowledged him as one of Denver’s “Best Docs” in 5280 magazine for three consecutive years.
At the University of Colorado Denver, in addition to teaching and supervising psychiatric residents, he co-directed the anxiety and mood disorders specialty consultation service. His teaching efforts have focused on cognitive behavioral therapy for mood and anxiety disorders as well as teaching the practice of evidence based medicine. He has lectured on depression and anxiety disorders throughout the west.
