Dr. Giese is the Director of Community Programs at the University of Colorado Depression Center and Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at University of Colorado School of Medicine. Dr. Giese is a leader and innovator in improving health services for mental illnesses and is active in local and state health systems, as well as national consulting. Projects include improving depression treatment in primary care practices, integration of physical health and behavioral health services, and dissemination of evidence-based treatments in community mental health settings.
Dr. Giese’s other primary interest is psychiatry education, and she serves as Vice Chair for Graduate Medical Education and Residency Program Director in the Department of Psychiatry. She is committed to training future psychiatrists in evidence-based practices and in acquiring the skills needed to accelerate future innovations and breakthroughs in psychiatry.
Dr. Giese’s clinical expertise and practice focus on adults and older adults with mood disorders.
