On behalf of the faculty, I welcome you to the Department of Psychiatry. We are dedicated to the care of patients at our teaching hospitals and clinics from birth through aging. We provide state-of-the-art evidence-based care in a tradition of individual commitment to each person. Our research programs rank us as one of the top 20 Departments in American psychiatry. Our teaching programs provide students and trainees with high quality training and experience in all that we do. I would like to acknowledge the generous support we have received from our community through the Institute for Childrens’ Mental Disorders, the Institute for Depression Treatment and Studies, and our chairs and professorships and other endowed programs.
