A celebration of scholarship in research for more than two decades, the 26th Annual Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Gersten Day Guest Professorship proudly welcomed Associate Professor Adrea Boon, MD, from the Mayo Clinic, as the keynote speaker on June 14, 2013, at the Ben Nighthorse Campbell Building on the Anschutz Medical Campus. Dr. Boon presented “The Role of Ultrasound in the EMG Lab.” At the close of the day, residents and fellows had the opportunity for an ultrasound seminar with Dr. Boon.
Following breakfast and the welcome hosted by Dennis Matthews, MD, Professor and Chair of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the seven graduating residents and fellows presented their research, which brings together three years of work.
After the conclusion of Gersten Research Day activities, the annual Graduation dinner was held in the evening at the Downtown Aquarium to recognize graduates and to announce the Academic Teaching Award, the Golden Goniometer, and the Jerome Gersten Clinical Teaching Award.
