Dr. Stephenson is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He currently serves as the director of the PM&R consult service and as an outpatient physiatrist at the Denver VA Medical Center. His specialty clinics include electrodiagnostic medicine, amputee specialty care, musculoskeletal medicine, and neurological rehabilitation.

Dr. Stephenson’s clinical interests include neuropharmacologic treatment options for individuals with traumatic brain injury, conservative approaches to managing musculoskeletal pain, optimizing functional recovery post-stroke, and chemodenervation interventions for spasticity, dystonia, and migraine.

Dr. Stephenson is interested in studying gait biomechanics with prosthetic adjustments +/- therapeutic interventions. He would like to translate this research into functional improvements and pain reduction in prosthetic users.

Additionally he is interested in studying pre and post therapeutic functional and subjective measures in individuals with mild traumatic brain injury.
