The Department of Pediatrics Section of Pulmonology provides clinical services at Children's Hospital ColoradoNational Jewish Health, and at outreach clinics in Colorado and Montana. 

As a national referral center, we are dedicated to providing professional education at all levels and are committed to advancing knowledge through our comprehensive research programs.

HIGHLIGHTS & NEWS

  • Dr. Steven Abman was selected to serve as Associate Editor for the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.
  • Pulmonology Fellow, Dr. Stephen Hawkins, received the Outstanding Fellow Award as part of the 2016 Resident and Faculty Teaching Awards.
  • Pulmonology Fellow, Dr. Benjamin Hughes, was the 1st Year Fellow 2016 Spring Poster Session award winner for his poster, “The Effect of Altitude on Obstructive Sleep Apnea in Children.”
  • Dr. Oren Kupfer received the Children's Hospital Colorado 2016 Century Award. The award recognizes members of the Medical Staff, five or fewer years out of training, which have made major contributions to the Medical Staff through committee work, initiatives, leadership roles and/or advocacy.
  • Dr. Robin Deterding received the 2016 James E. Strain Award from the Colorado AAP. Dr. Deterding was recognized for her tireless work in founding the chILD (Children’s Interstitial Lung Disease) foundation giving hope and support to parent’s who’s children are affected.
  • The Pediatric Pulmonology fellowship at University of Colorado won an award for Innovations in Fellowship Education given by the American Thoracic Society International Conference 2016 for the abstract, “High Fidelity Airway Trainer Teaches Novice Learners Flexible Bronchoscopy Skills,” submitted by Drs. Emily DeBoer, Ricky Mohon, and Matthew Rustici.
