Medical Students

Our section offers numerous opportunities for medical students to gain a better understanding of the role of clinical nutrition in health care.

Whether you plan to pursue primary or subspecialty fields of medicine, surgical or non-surgical care, adult or pediatric care, our clinical rotations offer the opportunity to build your knowledge base and clinical skills. Additionally, numerous students work with our faculty every year conducting research or quality improvement projects, developing content for curriculum in this field or working to improve health care delivery.

Click on the links below for additional information regarding clinical electives or research/project based opportunities. Please contact Laura Primak at if you are interested.

Medical Student Scholarly Activity (MSA): Seeking interested medical students to assist in pediatric nutrition research projects including but not limited to community based research related to lifestyle behaviors (diet, physical activity, and media use), nutrition in medical education and infant and maternal nutrition (micronutrients (iron, zinc) and macronutrients with associations to infant and child growth and adiposity). Please contact Jill Kaar if you are interested in learning more about our existing MSA projects.
