The Department of Pediatrics Section of Hematology, Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplantation provides clinical services for children, adolescents, and young adults with cancer and non-malignant blood disorders at Children's Hospital Colorado Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders (CCBD).

HIGHLIGHTS & NEWS

  • Dr. Stephen Hunger won the SIOP Award for Basic Science from the International Society of Paediatric Oncology.
  • Dr. Edie Albano obtained the Excellence in Quality and Patient Safety Medical Staff Award.
  • Dr. Doug Graham is the recipient of the Damon Runyon Clinical Investigator and the American Cancer society Research Scholar awards.
  • Bernice Pasut, MS, RN, CPNP, received the Barbara A. Quarantillo Senior Instructor with Distinction Award.
  • Drs. Taru and Bill Hays have endowed a new fellowship: The Taru Hays Fellowship in Clinical Hematology.
  • Dr. Amy Keating is a St. Baldrick’s Foundation Scholar and has been awarded grants from the NIH and the Department of Defense to continue her studies of pediatric astrocytoma and other malignancies.
  • Dr. Meg Macy was awarded the Hyundai Wheels of Hope Award for the Experimental Therapeutics Program.
  • Edythe Albano, MD, and Bernice Pasut, CPNP-PC, were given the 5-star award from the 2011 PRC National Excellence in Healthcare.
