2016 International Conference on Innovations in Family Engagement
The Kempe Center hosted the second International Conference on Innovations in Family Engagement in Fort Worth, Texas on November 1-4, 2016. The event was attended by over 300 people from 24 states, 3 Canadian Provinces, Finland, Norway, Taiwan, Japan, Nigeria and Pakistan.
The International Conference on Innovations in Family Engagement
The Kempe Center hosted the inaugural 2015 International Conference on Innovations in Family Engagement in Minneapolis, Minnesota on October 27-30, 2015. This event blended two distinct conferences, the Family Group Decision Making (FGDM) and Other Family Engagement Approaches Conference (held since 1997) and the Differential Response Conference (held since 2005) into one. This year's theme "Continuing the Learning on Differential Response, Family Group Decision Making and Other Reforms" covered a variety of topics for a multi-disciplinary audience, including sessions on Family Group Decision Making, Differential Response, and topics with a wider application to all child and family serving systems.
17th National Conference on FGDM and Other Family Engagement Approaches
The Kempe Center hosted the 17th Annual Conference on Differential Response in Child Welfare in Vail, Colorado on June 10-13, 2014. This year's theme, "Reaching New Heights with Families,' focused on ascending to genuine partnerships with families. We had close to 300 practitioners, supervisors, administrators, trainers, researchers, attorneys, judges, and advocates in child welfare from 27 states, tribal communities, Canada, and the UK.
