The Section of Allergy, Immunology and Rheumatology is an integrated program between National Jewish Health (NJH) and Children's Hospital Colorado. NJH and Children's Colorado have multidisciplinary health care teams to treat all aspects of a patient's illness.
Allergy and Immunology at Children's Colorado provides both ambulatory and inpatient consultation services for children with all forms of allergic, hypersensitive, and congenital immune deficiency disorders.
Rheumatology at Children's Colorado and National Jewish Health (NJH) diagnose and treat rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases of childhood, including arthritis, lupus, and vasculitis. The rheumatology team works closely with the referring physician and other specialists to coordinate care and treat all aspects of a patient's illness. In collaboration with the Section of Hematology, Oncology and BMT, Dr. Jennifer Soep staffs a multidisciplinary Antiphospholipid Antibody Clinic. Additionally, Drs. Jennifer Soep and J. Roger Hollister, in collaboration with the Section of Nephrology, participate in a monthly combined Nephrology/Rheumatology Clinic to provide comprehensive care to patients with renal manifestations of their rheumatologic condition. Dr. Jennifer Soep, in collaboration with Dr. Travis Heare in the Department of Orthopaedics, sees patients with Chronic Recurrent Multifocal Osteomyelitis (CRMO).
Asthma care is coordinated between Allergy and Immunology and Pulmonology at Children's Colorado.
Together with Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, clinics in eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders are held at both NJH and Children's Colorado, supervised by physicians based both at Children's Colorado and NJH.
In collaboration with Infectious Diseases at Children's Colorado and the Department of Otolaryngology, Dr. Andrew Liu staffs a multidisciplinary Sinus Clinic.
