- Course Description: Series of interactive and engaging workshops focused on developing essential communication skills for first- and second- year medical students. Faculty coach guides a group of four students in coaching each other while they interview standardized patients (SP). Coaches also work one-on-one with students reviewing their digitally recorded SP encounters during their course assessments.
- Time Commitment: Sessions run from 1:00 – 5:00 pm (with a faculty orientation lunch from 12:00 - 1:00 pm) on Tuesdays and Thursdays periodically during the year. Half- day training required prior to each session and faculty expected to participate in a series of three sessions.

- Course Description: Sessions involving patients or patient models demonstrating abnormal physical exam findings. Faculty are paired with patients/patient models and groups of eight to ten students rotate amongst faculty/patient pairings to have exposure to various conditions and exam findings. Each session focuses on a specific portion of the physical exam, e.g., the pulmonary exam, the abdominal exam, etc.

- Course Description: Series of small group sessions with a set group of third- or fourth-year medical students who meet to reflect upon both the positive and negative things they are learning during their clinical experiences that are not a formal part of the curriculum. The purpose of these sessions is to provide a safe environment for sharing and reflection as well as to gather information in aggregate that can be used to improve the educational experience for our students.
