Harley A. Rotbart, MD, graduated from Cornell University Medical College in 1979. He completed pediatric residency training at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1982 and pediatric infectious diseases fellowship training at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 1985. Dr. Rotbart joined the faculty of the Department of Pediatrics and Children's Hospital Colorado in 1984. He cofounded the Clinical Trials Organization at Children's Colorado in 1997 and currently serves as Vice Chair of Academic Affairs in the Department of Pediatrics.

Dr. Rotbart's research concentrates on the molecular and cellular mechanisms by which enteroviruses and rhinoviruses cause disease, as well as methods for rapid molecular diagnosis and treatment of these infections. He was issued a US Patent for his "Methods of Detecting Picornaviruses in Biological Fluids and Tissues."

Dr. Rotbart has published over one hundred journal articles, book chapters, and abstracts. He is consistently named one of the Best Doctors in America and is featured in a new series of eight educational videos on WebMD.
