Robert B. Clyman, MD, earned his medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine (UCSOM) in 1985. He completed a Residency in Psychiatry in 1989 at UCSOM, as well as an NIMH-funded Postdoctoral Research Fellowship with the Developmental Psychobiology Research Group, Department of Psychiatry at UCSOM, in 1992. He completed an additional Residency in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Children's National Medical Center, Washington, DC, in 1994.
Dr. Clyman joined the faculty of the Departments of Pediatrics and Psychiatry at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Children’s Hospital Colorado in 1998. Until July 2009, he served as Executive Director of the Kempe Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Abuse and Neglect, Co-Section Head for the Section on Family and Child Health, and he also held the Jack and Viki Thompson Chair in Child Maltreatment and Family Health.
