Steven H. Abman, MD, earned his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, in 1979. He completed his Pediatric Residency at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 1982 and was honored with the Bruce M. Garber Memorial Award for “Outstanding Resident” by the Department of Pediatrics. After serving as Chief Resident in Pediatrics, Dr. Abman completed his Fellowship in Pediatric Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics and The Children's Hospital and joined our faculty in 1986. He was appointed full Professor of Pediatrics with tenure in 1996, and he currently serves as the Director of the Pediatric Heart Lung Center. He established the clinical Pulmonary Hypertension Program and Ventilator Care Program at Children’s Hospital Colorado.
