Carol Okada, MD, has accepted the position of Director of Service of Inpatient Pediatrics at Denver Health. This position is currently held by John Ogle, M.D., who will be retiring at the end of December. Dr. Okada came to Denver Health in 1994 as a pediatric resident at the University of Colorado. After completing residency in 1997, Dr. Okada began her career at Denver Health in the inpatient pediatrics service. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Okada has completed a fellowship in pediatric critical care (2013), held administrative roles at the University of Colorado’s pediatric residency program, and is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics Critical Care.
In her new role, Dr. Okada will oversee the inpatient pediatrics group, which is comprised of the physicians, advanced practitioners, residents, and students on the pediatric unit, PICU, NICU, and well baby nursery. Dr. Okada will work closely with the Chief Acceleration & Operating Officer, Chief Nursing Officer, and the Chief of Clinical Operations.
