 Facilities

 University of Colorado Hospital and Anschutz Medical Campus:
UCH is located on the Anschutz Medical Campus of the University of Colorado Denver at 12605 East 16th Ave, in Aurora.  The campus is home to most of the hospital’s services, the University of Colorado School of Medicine as well as​ its schools of Public Health, Nursing, Pharmacy and Dentistry.  It is in the heart of a bold new health care city. Soon, the University of Colorado School of Medicine Anschutz Medical Campus will be one of the largest geographic medical centers in the world.

In addition to the The University of Colorado Hospital, the campus is home to the Anschutz Outpatient Pavilion, the Rocky Mountain Lion's Eye Institute, the University of Colorado Cancer Center, the Center for Dependency, Addiction, and Rehabilitation (CeDAR), and many other affiliated Anschutz Medical Campus services. The University of Colorado Hospital is a 400+ bed hospital that houses the cancer center, a burn unit, a transplantation center, and many other specialized medical and surgical programs.

 The adult Neurology program is consistently amongst the top 30 programs ranked by US News and World Report with the Pediatric Neurology program consistently in the top 20.

Each year the Neurology Service sees over 1,900 inpatient admits and consultations, with over 35,000 visits in the outpatient clinics. The recently expanded twelve-bed Class IV Epilepsy Monitoring Unit provides inpatient video-monitoring to over 300 patients a year. This unit also supports the leading epilepsy surgery program in the region in collaboration with the Department of Neurosurgery.
 
Procedurally, nearly 2,000 outpatient EEGs and over 6,000 continuous EEGs are read each year. Over 1,000 EMGs and more than 150 muscle biopsies are performed yearly. Botox injections for headache number over 2,00 visits along with an equal number of occipital and sphenopalatine blocks. An additional 2,000 visits are seen for Botox injections for various movement disorders along with over 1,000 visit for DBS programming.
 

  

 Denver Veteran's Affairs Medical Center:
The DVAMC is now located on the Anschutz Medical Campus. Each year the Neurology Service admits an average of 225 patients, provides 250 inpatient consultations, and sees 2,100 patients in the Outpatient Clinic.

  

Denver Health Medical Center:
DHMC is located 14 miles from UCH, near downtown Denver, and serves the population within the boundaries of Denver County. The center contains 315 beds, including 22 general pediatric and six pediatric intensive care unit beds. DHMC is a regional level I trauma center.  There are extensive ambulatory clinic facilities for both adult and pediatric patients.  Each year the Neurology Service admits an average of 325 patients, provides 350 inpatient consultations and sees 2500 patients in the Outpatient Clinic.

 

Children's Hospital Colorado:
CHC is located on the Anschutz Medical Campus.  The hospital contains 175 beds, including 32 pediatric intensive care unit beds and 31 level III nursery beds, houses a burn unit, a large regional oncology unit and a pediatric rehabilitation center.  Major programs in neurosurgery, orthopedics and other pediatric surgical subspecialties are available.  Each year the Child Neurology Service provides approximately 500 inpatient consultations, sees 2800 patients in the Outpatient Clinics, and performs 1600 EEGs, evoked potentials and other neurodiagnostic tests. 

 

 

Libraries:
The Health Sciences Library at Anschutz Medical Campus is a gateway to the world's biomedical information, assisting the University of Colorado in accomplishing its missions and goals in education, research, patient care, and community service.  The library's collection includes more than 250,000 bound volumes and 1,750 current journal subscriptions. Numerous computerized resources are available in the library. The library's "electronic card catalog" includes books, journals and audiovisual materials in Denison Library, as well as material in other libraries. The new library is the physical and digital hub of knowledge on the Anschutz Medical Campus, coordinating access to information in support of learning, research, clinical care, and service to the community.
The Learning Resources Center provides audiovisual and computer-aided instructional material to support lectures and self-instruction. Extensive library facilities also are available at TCH, DHMC, and DVAMC. Twenty-four hour online access to medical searches and the internet is available at all four institutions, as is photocopying capability.
