Mark Earnest has been appointed as Division Head for the Division of General Internal Medicine. Mark joined the faculty in 1993 after completing his residency here at the University of Colorado. He completed a GIM research fellowship and then a PhD in Health and Behavioral Sciences in 2000. He founded and directed the LEADS program and serves as the founding Director of the Anschutz’s Campus’ nationally recognized Interprofessional Education Program. As interim division head, Mark has helped lead the planning for the growth of primary care for UCHealth, overseen the recruitment of multiple new faculty members including the recent affiliation of the Denver Internal Medicine Group into the department, and helped facilitate the development of the new MS degree in Palliative Medicine. Mark has done an outstanding job as the interim and, given the support provided by the School and UCH.
