University Hospital is a new 383-bed quaternary care facility which provides care to patients throughout the State of Colorado and has a referral base that includes seven surrounding states. In June 2007, the hospital moved to the Anschutz Medical Campus where a new state-of-the-art interdisciplinary academic health center and research facilities were built. Also, directly adjacent to the medical campus lies the Colorado Science and Technology Park at Fitzsimons, complete with cutting edge patient care and research facilities.
The hospital serves the basic health care needs of the local community and provides the advanced quaternary care services including solid organ transplant, bone marrow transplant, stroke care, and advanced critical care. The University of Colorado Hospital teaching services include General Internal Medicine, Oncology, Geriatrics, Hepatology, Medical Consultation, Stroke Service, Cardiology/CCU, and Pulmonary/MICU. Elective rotations are also available in all of the medical subspecialties and hospital-based medicine.
