at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is currently recruiting older male volunteers to take part in a testosterone (male hormone) and exercise training study (COMIRB # 02-1056) that focuses on the effects of testosterone supplementation on physical and functional performance.
Study Qualifications:
- Male 60 years or older, in good general health
- No present or past history of testosterone supplementation
- No present or past history of prostate or breast cancer
- No current participation in a weight lifting program three or more days per week
- Be able to read and understand English
- Live in the Denver Metro area
Study Disqualifications:
- Have a significant liver or renal disease
- Have significant vascular disease
- Are currently using narcotics, androgenic steroids, androstenedione, or DHEA
- Are a smoker

- Physical examination
- Laboratory testing
- Bone density
- Body and muscle mass levels
