Thank you for your interest in the University of Colorado School of Medicine’s Combined Internal Medicine-Pediatric Residency Program. Our program, while new, is built on the foundation of two outstanding categorical residency programs. The Internal Medicine residency program has long been recognized as one of the country’s strongest training programs. The Pediatric Residency program has a reputation for training some of the strongest clinicians, researchers, and leaders in pediatric medicine.
The combined Internal Medicine-Pediatric residency provides our residents with outstanding education and mentoring in both adult and pediatric medicine. The program seeks to train residents who have an interest in clinical care, research, education, or leadership for the health of patients across their lifespan. Our Med-Peds faculty includes individuals who provide primary care across the life span, sub-specialists in categorical and combined fields, and researchers. The training sites include:
The University of Colorado Hospital—which is consistently ranked among the best hospitals in the country.
Children’s Hospital Colorado—a 440-bed tertiary care hospital that serves the Rocky Mountain region and has been consistently ranked among the top 10 children’s hospitals in the country.
Children’s Colorado and University of Colorado Hospital are located on the beautiful Anschutz Medical Campus, which is home to the University’s graduate schools in medicine, nursing, pharmacy, global health and public health, among others. The richness of this training environment will appeal to a future Med-Peds physician who is interested in a career in clinical care, research, education, global health or rural health.
Life in Denver is another benefit of training at the University of Colorado. With over 300 days of sunshine, Denver combines the best of urban living with close proximity to year-round activities in the mountains.
We hope that you’ll find the experience of being an integral part of growing this new residency to be as exciting as we do and consider joining our program at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
All the best,
