Dr. Meditz's research goal is to advance the health of women at all stages of life with HIV infection and those at risk of HIV acquisition.  She is involved in an ongoing study evaluating sex-based differences in plasma HIV-1 RNA concentrations. In addition, she is the primary investigator on a project designed to evaluate how female sex hormones and aging may impact markers of susceptibility in the female genital tract, with the goal of providing insight into the biology of HIV transmission and disease progression in women.   Finally, she is involved in investigations evaluating sex differences in the pharmacology of antiretroviral medications.
