The mission of our program is to deliver the most advanced care for individuals with blood cancers in the most compassionate and personal manner. Part of our commitment to caring for the whole patient includes providing supportive care throughout the entire treatment arc. We offer the following resources for our patients and their families:
On-Site American Cancer Society Patient Navigator
Provides assistance with transportation, child-care, finances, education about cancer specific information, connections to local support groups and many other resources.
Montfort Family Foundation Cancer Resource Center
Provides free education and support during and beyond cancer treatment.
Our support groups include patient-focused groups as well as several that help the families of patients diagnosed with cancer. Some of our groups include: Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Blood Cancer support group; Young Adult Group; The Men's Cancer Group; Couples Facing Cancer; CLIMB- Support group for young children who are coping with a parent diagnosed with cancer; Look Good...Feel Better- teaches beauty techniques for women with cancer (sponsored by the American Cancer Society); Lemonade Tours of the hospital for children with a parent diagnosed with cancer.
We have two full-time psychologists on staff and two supervised advanced Ph.D. students who provide support for a wide range of psychological and behavioral problems. Phone based counseling is provided by the Cancer Information & Counseling Line as well.
