Jason Persoff, MD, SFHM

Assistant Professor of Medicine

Jason Persoff, MD, SFHM, is a nocturnist for the Hospital Medicine Group. He is responsible for coordinating care on 50-75 inpatients over 6 services at night, while still admitting patients, supervising residents, and providing/creating a nocturnal curriculum for nighttime learners.

He is a long time, renowned storm chaser, father of three brilliant children, husband to an amazing wife, erstwhile stand-up comedian, and contemporaneous Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine in the Hospital Medicine Group at the University of Colorado.

Dr. Persoff was born, raised, reared and eventually left Denver, Colorado, but not without first completing his B.S. in Medical Science and M.D. at the University of Colorado. He moved to the decidedly less-meteorologically-diverse, much less snow-prone, sunny city of Jacksonville where he completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Mayo Clinic. He was honored by appointment to the Chief Resident position the following year and then was asked to stay on as staff as one of Mayo Clinic Jacksonville’s first hospitalists. He has received myriad teaching awards, including the distinction of Teacher of the Year for the institution, and repeatedly for all the major teaching services at Mayo Clinic. When the opportunity arrived to move back to Colorado in December, 2011, the Persoff Family migrated back to Dr. Persoff’s roots. Since arriving back at CU, he was honored with an Excellence in Teaching award for the Department of Medicine in 2013.
