Primary research focus is on hereditary heart diseases, specifically the human cardiomyopathies. This includes active research into the genetic basis of dilated and hypertrophic cardiomyopathies as well as arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia/cardiomyopathy. Other research interests include: autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease, adult congenital heart defects, adult forms of intellectual disability, Next-Generation DNA sequencing, Danon disease, lysosomal storage diseases (Gaucher, Fabry, Pompe, and Glycogen Storage Disease Type IIb), genetic association studies, and the integration of clinical genetics into adult medicine. |
