The University of Colorado School of Medicine Predoctoral Psychology Internship Program is accredited by the Office of Program Consultation and Accreditation American Psychological Association and participates in the APPIC Internship Matching Program. Applicants must complete the APPIC on-line APPI. This internship site agrees to abide by the APPIC policy that no person at this training facility will solicit, accept, or use any ranking-related information from any intern applicant.

Applications for consideration must consist of the following in order to be reviewed.
A completed on-line APPI
- Cover Letter (part of on-line APPI) designating your major rotation preference with number (see listing below)
- Curriculum Vitae (part of on-line APPI)
- Three letters of recommendation, two of which must be from persons who have directly supervised your clinical work. Supervisors must have provided supervision by regularly and consistently meeting with you in person. Letters from supervisors who have provided electronic or other “distance” supervision are not acceptable.
- JFK applicants must include one complete psychological testing report. Please delete all identifying information from the report. (uploaded to the APPI as supplemental materials)
It is the candidate's responsibility to see that all application materials are completed by November 1, 2017.

Applicants affected by the 2017 hurricanes will be granted a 2-week extension to submit applications. This extension request is in keeping with the recommendations from APPIC https://www.appic.org/Match/Hurricanes-2017. You must submit your application on November 15 through the APPI portal. Just to be clear, the portal will close on November 1st (our deadline for all other applicants) and will re-open on the day of November 15th for the entirety of that day (closing at midnight mountain standard time). Please contact our training director via email to let us know that you will be submitting a late application. Please include in your email:
- The graduate program you are from
- The major rotation you will be applying so that rotation supervisors can be alerted

All interns must pass a background investigation as a condition of employment with UC SOM.
In addition, we abide by Children’s Hospital policy related to drug screening for JFK Interns. Interns must complete a 10-panel drug screen (i.e., Barbiturates, Cocaine, MDA, Methaqualone, Propoxyphene, Amphetamines, Benzodiazepines, Methadone, Opiates, Marijuana).The company that completes the drug screen is responsible for documenting if the drug screen is a pass or fail. A non-employee’s refusal to consent to a drug screening will result in the immediate discontinuation of the assignment. Non-employees who test positive for drugs that are illegal under any federal, state or local law are subject to termination of the assignment and are not eligible to perform work at Children’s Hospital Colorado for a 12-month period following a positive drug screening.
